Using the Timeline view of the Lookahead, you can visually manage your short-term planning, without having to change modules.
1. Open the Lookahead module:
a. First select the appropriate timeline view in the view selector shown with this icon .
b. Then, select the activities you want to view from the filter.
2. Adjust/reschedule the dates of the tasks you want to be part of your next Weekly Plan. To do this, you can edit the column Start date, duration or simply drag the task bar to the desired date, which must be within the current week to be committed (blue color area).
Any task that enters the blue weekly range will automatically change its Lean State to Weekly Plan, and the outline of its bar will be displayed in light blue. If a task has an open roadblock and moved into the weekly plan, the outline of the bar will be red.
3. Once all the tasks have been positioned within the interval of your Weekly Plan, verify the date, responsible parties, and sequence of work. Then finish your commitment by pressing the upper right Commit button to memorialize the plan.
Committing the Weekly Plan cannot be undone by users. We recommend confirming commitments with your internal team and subs before hitting the Commit button. If the Weekly plan must be uncommitted, please utilize the Live Help Chat and we will assist you.
4. You will then see that the coming week is now displayed in Green which means the plan is committed.
5. Finally, you will be able to view the record of the week's commitments from the Review button in the upper right toolbar, which will direct you to the Weekly Plan module.
Now you know how to commit a Weekly Plan from the timeline view of your Lookahead. Try applying it to your project!
