Current Offset

Identifies each week how many days behind or ahead your project is to date.

This graph quantifies, in days , the lag (positive or negative) that our project has each week , according to the periods of the S curve .

In this way, each week the gap will be calculated as follows:

The project offset will always answer the question:

"According to my baseline, how long ago was the current real progress due?"

In the image: T1 and T2 represent dates of different moments of the project:

  • T2: Represents the date of the current moment of the project (current week).
  • T1: This value is obtained by extrapolating over time the value that represents the real progress in T2 over the baseline.

Therefore, the offset is defined as:

Offset = T1 - T2

The subtraction is done in calendar days and the result is expressed in days.
