Define the "path" to achieve the objectives of your project.
The baseline corresponds to the result of the original planning of the project, where the scheduling of the work is established to achieve the desired objectives. This will guide us throughout the execution of the project and will allow us to compare our real progress with what was initially established.
In Outbuild you can save the baseline of your project whenever you want, it is recommended to do it when you have already prepared your Master Plan . To save it, you must click on the "Saved Baselines" button and select "New Baseline" .
There are 3 baseline saving options:
- Entire Project: A new baseline will be saved for the entire project.
- Current Baseline + New Activities: The baseline will be saved only for the new activities that have been added that do not have a baseline.
- Incomplete Activities (<100% Progress): A new baseline will only be saved for activities that have not yet been completed (<100% progress). Completed activities keep their previous base.
Note: The Save Baseline action makes the current monitoring dates become the new baseline, applying to the corresponding activities depending on the type of baseline that has been selected to save.
After selecting the baseline type, you must enter the baseline name and an associated comment. Finally you click on "Save Baseline" and that's it! you have already saved your baseline.
