      Upload a Project Schedule File to OUTBUILD

      Ensure a successful schedule upload to Outbuild by using supported file types and taking note of considerations for unsupported ones.

      Supported File Types:

      The file types listed below can be uploaded directly:

      1. MPP (Microsoft Project)
      2. XER (Primavera P6 desktop app)

      Unsupported file types

      There are widely used types not yet supported by Outbuild. Here are some recommendations:

      • XML (Ms project): XML generated from Project is no yet supported by Outbuild, we recommend transforming it to MPP format into project. 
      • XML (Primavear P6): XML generated from P6 is no yet supported by Outbuild, we recommend transforming it to XER format into P6. 
      • XER (From P6 cloud): XER generated from P6 cloud have a schema still no supported. We recommend:
        • Open the file in P6 desktop app and re-export to XER (P6 desktop app will reformat the file)
        • Contact support, we can transform the file to you😉.

       

      Steps

      Exist 2 ways to upload your schedule: 

      A. From a new stage created

      1. Navigate to the Schedule module.
      2. Select the option 'Import my schedule'.
      3. Choose the file type you are going to import (MPP or XER).
      4. From the file navigator, select the file to import.
      5. Validate the information to import. Outbuild will show you a summary of the information that will be uploaded:
        1. Activities and Milestones.
        2. Calendars
        3. Schedule progress and number of activities completed.
        4. Activities with 'Work' assigned
        5. Activities with 'Cost' assigned
        6. Resources
      6. Define the information you prefer to import. You can choose to import or not:
        1. Activities progress.
        2. Work values.
        3. Cost values.
        4. Resources.
      7. Complete Schedule upload.

      B. Upload a file over an exited schedule. 

      1. Navigate to Schedule module.
      2. Go to the toolbar bottom and select the option 'Import/Download' > 'Import new schedule'.
      3. Follow the step 3 to 7 of 'New stage' workflow
