In Outbuild, the dates of the Master Schedule activities are controlled only by those users with the Scheduler user role or above (Scheduler, Project Leader, Admin, Super Admin). These dates are respected when sequencing the tasks in the Lookahead module, however they can be modified through the Modification Request process.
When the dates of the created tasks go outside of the start and end dates of the Master Schedule activity, Outbuild will generate an alert that will allow a modification request to be raised; which, when approved, will modify the dates of the activity .
Modification requests are generated as follows:
-
To request a modification, the task must generate an alert. To do this, it must present one of the following cases:
The task start date is before the start date of its activity (Task Start < Activity Start)
The end date of the task exceeds the end date of the activity (End task > End activity)
- To submit the Modification Request, click on the red exclamation point icon. This will open the Modification Request modal. In the comment section, enter the reason that the date of the Master Schedule activity needs to be modified. Clicking the green Send Request button sends this information to the Master Schedule.
- Now, the user(s) responsible for updating the Master Schedule will have the ability to Approve or Reject the request. These users also have the ability to Preview the impact that approving this request will have on the overall Project schedule.
- If the Modification Request is Approved, the Master Schedule Activity dates will adjust to reflect the dates in the request. If the Modification Request is Rejected, the Master Schedule Activity dates will remain unchanged.
